Vasily Golovin
Vasily Golovin was born in St. Petersburg, Russia where he began training at age nine with some of the world's top ballroom coaches. He has competed internationally for more than 20 years and has won various titles, including Russian National Champion, European Champion and Latin World Champion. He has won the Top Teaching award in several California competitions and was one of the most highly acclaimed ballroom coaches in California. Vasily is now an internationally recognized Professional Latin Champion representing the United States. He and his wife Alexis visited Idaho on vacation and fell in love with the state moving here in 2023. He currently teaches in Boise and Ketchum. Mindy and Vasily are responsible for putting together tonight's program.
Mindy Meads
Mindy Meads had an accomplished retail career in C-suite roles such as the CEO of Land's End, Victoria Secret, & Aeropostale. She also had a stint as professor of LIM college in NYC.
Throughout her career, Mindy has shared her expertise on numerous boards including serving as the Board Chair of the Sun Valley Culinary Institute when the school first opened. Mindy caught the dancing bug the moment she started taking lessons at the Fred Astaire studio in New York City. Although Mindy seldomly competes, her love for the sport is undeniable. When Mindy heard there was a competitive dancing coach in Boise, she reached out to him to see if he could teach her in Ketchum. The fruits of their partnership culminate in tonight's performance.
Tatiana and Yegor Novikov
Tatiana & Yegor Novikov are professional ballroom dancers and compete in the American Smooth style including the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz. Tatiana started dancing when she was 4, and graduated from the University of Culture and Art in Moscow where she mastered disciplines such as Ballet, Jazz Modern Folk. Born in Samara Russia, Yegor started Ballroom and Latin dancing at the age of 9 and has garnered many ballroom titles including the U.K. Open and Blackpool Professional Latin semifinalist. The couple married shortly after the 2023's Hollywood Dancesport competition and celebrated their one-year anniversary by winning the Open Professional American Smooth Dancesport competition. The two have held titles in US National Championships, World Championship podium 2023-2025, Blackpool Vice Champions in 2025. They have also launched a Smooth Kids program which strives to inspire young dancers throughout the country.
Arina Grishanina
and Alexander Chernositov
Arina is a highly accomplished ballroom dancer who has achieved significant success in the Amateur Latin division with her partner Alexander. Born in Russia, Arina started her career at the age of 5. At 20 she moved to Denmark, aspiring to become a champion dancer. Her major achievements include winning the Danish Under 21 Latin Championship and securing victory at the Blackpool Dance Festival Amateur Latin Championship (2013). Alexander is an experienced dance instructor with more than a decade of experience. He currently competes in the International Latin-American dancing field at the world-class level and performs in various theatrical shows around the globe. Together the two earned the esteemed title of world Amateur Latin Champians, securing the Blackpool Champions title in 2025.
Liza Lakovitsky
and Austin Joson
Austin and Liza are native to New Jersey (respectively) and rejoined forces in 2022. Almost 20 years ago, they were Juvenile and 10-Dance Champion of the United States, as well as guest performers on ABC's hit show "Dancing With The Stars." Currently, they are the United States Professional Latin Silver Medalists, and professional Latin semifinalists of all major championships: the United Kingdom Dance Festival, Blackpool Dance Festival, They also got married a year ago. It's their hired time performing here in Idaho, and they are excited to flat their love of dance with their four other Amigos, and all of you.
Beverly Durand
and Curtis Collins
Curtis Collins & Beverly Durand are an internationally acclaimed dance team whose careers span Broadway, Hollywood, television, and stages around the world. Together, they blend classic ballroom elegance with theatrical artistry, creating performances that are both sophisticated and electrifying.
Beverly Durand appeared in the original Broadway cast of Swing! and the first national tour Parade. Curtis Collins' credits include Disney's Enchanted, coaching actors for Shall We Dance, and appearances on Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless.
Their competitive success continues to impress Curtis is a 2023 Pro-Am World Smooth Champion, while Beverly claimed the 2024 Masters Division title at The Open Swing Dance Championships.
